  1. The plugin makes all my admin pages to go blank as soon as it is activated. And, yes, I have traced back the error to this particular plugin. I have the feeling that it places a high stress on my server configuration (... it still works in the background, as I receive an emai message somo time later).
If only I could configure some options after activating the plugin but before it started parsing my blog I could probably minimize this problem. OR if it could be manually "started" from the options page..

  2. I have a bunch of items in the trash that have broken links. Would be ideal if in the "Look for links in" area there was a checkbox so that the plugin would skip looking for trashed items.

  4. The Broken Link Checker plugin is extremely useful but it is not working correctly installed in a multisite wordpress. It displays broken links that are actually working. Maybe it is because of the different used domains inside!?

  5. If the user cannot get online immediately to correct the link or dismiss it as unbroken, have an option to set the post/page as "private" or "draft" until later.

  7. I would like to have more available filters in the Link-overview.

    1. Just list external links
    2. Show links from pages only (exclude posts)

  9. Sometimes a link is found to be broken at some point, the admin gets an email to that effect and a little while later goes to the broken links page to verify.

The admin or another editor may (unwittingly) have deleted the broken link in the mean time. If that's the case, the plugin starts throwing errors as it is trying to retrieve the blogroll link object while it doesn't exists anymore.

So basically I'm suggesting that before displaying the broken links page, a quick check should be done for blogroll links to check if the link still exists and…

  10. Hi, please have a look at one of my (test) posts at
    http://artistrudolfmegert.artbabyart.net/directory/204/useroo-listing-total-1
and you see how absolutely ridiculous this looks, using the only option to deal with dead links or redirects in bulk, the "unlink" option leaves the ton of dead skeletons behind (the link text, in this case all URL's that simply no longer link).
Please create an option to get rid of this final trash too, something like
"Remove complete Link" as a bulk tool option, many thanks for your effort in advance.

  11. My website using custom filed with data like:
    ep1#http://link.com
    ep2#http://link2.com
    ...
So this plugin can't detect the link.
I suggest this plugin auto detect link with special character before http://

  12. Hi Jānis Elsts

I see that 'Broken Link Checker' includes the total number of links that it has found, but it would be great to be able to generate a list of these too.

I want to create an index for my site, and this would be a useful feature that I have not found any other plugin to be able to do.

It would be very useful for this plugin to offer a SHORTCODE feature, so that I can display an alphabetical list of all my site links on a page.

Thanks, and keep up the good work. :-)

  13. It read the chinese file name with unsuitable coding, so the broken plugin treat the correct chinese file name as some strange file name.

  15. I would like to have the ability to add the CSS that displays broken links to administrators or authors only, not to anyone who visits the site. Currently it shows the CSS regardless if you are logged into the site or not.

  16. Many sites support HTTP and HTTPS as part of a transition to a more secure Web presence. To help ease such a transition, Broken Link Checker could also inexpensively check to see if a resource accessed over HTTP is also available over SSL. If no SSL/TLS-secured response is returned, future resources at the same domain do not need to try SSL, since a pretty safe assumption can be made that the particular domain checked does not support it. However, if it does, then it would be smart to suggest that the HTTP version of the resource is "broken" because an…

  20. Broken link checker is also a great way to manage all your links . An option to add to rel="nofollow" to the link.
You can create a fork for changing titles , attributes or the html of the link,
