Theme function for checking links
In my custom theme, I'd like to hide any broken pingback links in my comments feed. However, I do not want to merely hide the link itself, but the block container as well. It'd be great if I could do something like this:
if (functionexists('blcisbrokenlink'))
{
if (!blcisbrokenlink('http://...'))
{
outputpingback();
}
}
else
{
output_pingback();

Checking of custom field links still does not work.
I have different custom fields which only include one link each. And the system does not even find them.
Too bad. Beside that your plugin is really a great help

Allow https:\\
When I changed the link from https:\ to http:\ the broken link became OK. Can you either make https:// links OK or have a short message explaining how to fix the link to make it OK.
TIA -- Chris

Always email specific user rather than admin (Developer/site manager)
I'm managing a client's site, and rather than email him about broken links, or the author, I'd like it to always email me. Unfortunately, there's no way to set it to always email a specific user or email address, only the original admin or author. Any chance you could set that? Thanks! You rock!
Great plugin!

Have the link checker look for specific content when it follows a link:
A link could be valid, as far as not returning a timeout or error, yet go to content that is no longer what it was when it was originally linked. Idea is to allow for an option to mark link as bad if a specific string is not present in the linked content.

Remove bad images upon discovery
Sometimes images stop working as well. Blogs that link & embed images from other sites accrue thousands of images that go 'dark' over the years. This can lead to a huge amount of SEO problems.

Display warning if curl is missing
I was confused about having trouble with https links. I checked the debug info and found missing curl.
After I installed it, everything works fine.
A message, that https links can fail while missing curl could be usefull.3 votes -

Download the links in CSV, Excel or Google Drive?
Is there not an option to be able to download these links and their information? At least in a csv file, but preferably with an option to download in excel, Google doc (drive), PDF, etc...

Login required
How do I handle a link that points to content that requires a login? These are currently reported as broken. I 'fix' them by simply marking them as 'not broken'. Is there a better way? It would be nice to know if the link really IS broken!
