How can I improve Broken Link Checker?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Very good plugin

    Very good plugin to search for internal broken links. It's very simple to install and check. When checking the site http://howme.ru immediately found six broken links and 100 syylok 301 redirect to the pictures, all of which are also deleted.
    Thanks for the nice plug
    I'd like to plug for the determination of all the external links from the site to look broken.

    Очень хороший плагин для поиска внутренних битых ссылок. Все очень просто устанавливается и проверяется. При проверке сайта хоwме.ру сразу нашлось 6 битых ссылок и 100 сыылок с 301 редиректом на картинки, которые тоже все удалил. …

  6. Search don't work

    In the URL box i put an address and when hit search 403

  7. Add a config option to choose snoopy instead of cURL

    cURL is active on my host but curlexec is not available because it's specified in the disablefunctions php.ini directive. If I remove the code that chooses cURL over snoopy, everything works.

  8. Searching for links ..... nothing happens!

    Hello.

    I'm using version 1.6.2 of the plugin and WP installation 3.4.2
    I've never used this plugin before, but now am in need of finding all the broken links.

    However, even after 24h I still get the following:
    No broken links found.
    No URLs in the work queue.
    Searching your blog for links...

    I also used the forced re-check, but still the same issue.

    I saw other users having the same issue.
    Is that bug fixed by now? Is there anything I can do on my side to make it work?

  9. Include a feature where the links are highlighted in the page where the links are broken!

    I find it confusing when I have a broken link and there are several links on the page. I need to check each one to find out which one is being picked up. If you could highlight the broken link in the page that would be awesome.

  10. "fixing" affiliate redirects

    option to ignore / disallow redirection of affiliate links? or maybe just a caution note? i.e. Amazon, other referal links - thx

  12. Over 90% of these are valid links.

    Validating links that work perfectly fine is a HUGE waste of my time! I've tweaked the settings to even limit what it validates and I still get over 100 broken links. When I go through them again, they all still work as intended. I give up - so I am now ignoring this tool and starting to look for a WP link checking plugin to replace it.

  15. Apply a filter for $URL in class blcHttpCheckerBase (http.php)

    For example:

    A simple filter in modules/checkers/http.php like this
    $url = str_replace('/dontfollow', '', $url);

    would avoid errors with Nofollow Case by Case

  19. Allow https:\\

    When I changed the link from https:\ to http:\ the broken link became OK. Can you either make https:// links OK or have a short message explaining how to fix the link to make it OK.

  20. Login required

    How do I handle a link that points to content that requires a login? These are currently reported as broken. I 'fix' them by simply marking them as 'not broken'. Is there a better way? It would be nice to know if the link really IS broken!
