Use consistent name on Tools and Settings menus
WP 4.0.1
BLC 1.10.3
On the tools menu, BLC is named "Broken Links", but on the Settings menu, BLC is named "Link Checker".
First, I very much like that BLC has put the menu options in the correct place, especially that the link checking tool is in the Tools menu. So please do not undo that!
Nevertheless, as a user of BLC, it would be less confusing if the menu names for BLC were consistent. I do not have an opinion about which menu name is better.

That would help the first time. I have been using this tool for many months and I never remember the name of the menus--instead I remember that the name is not what I expect it to be. :) I mean, if properly maintain my site, I should rarely need this tool, right?
In any event, this is a minor issue of usability, and it cuts both ways: consistency over time vs. consistency within menus. Despite having designed many websites, I have never worked on a site for years, so I don't have any experience measuring consistency over time, therefore, I have no idea what the "most" usable option is.

Perhaps. From a discoverability perspective, maybe the plugin could also display a notice after installation that tells the user where to find its admin menus. One of my other plugins shows something like "Tip: Go to Settings -> Example to start using plugin X". The notice automatically disappears when you visit the plugin page for the first time. Several users commented that they found this helpful..

Excellent point. Maybe add (BLC) after the two names? The following plug-in uses {SNAP} in it's menu options. https://wordpress.org/plugins/social-networks-auto-poster-facebook-twitter-g/

Consistency is certainly good, but breaking backwards compatibility/user habits is bad. The menu names have been like that for years. I'd be wary of changing them now.
